Introductory training in the use of OSCQR is available in webinar format with the option of earning formal certification for faculty self-assessment, or as OSCQR Reviewers or Trainers.

OSCQR introductory offerings are free for anyone regardless of affiliation with SUNY, but registration is required.

All participants earn digital badges upon completion.
OSCQR Introductory Webinars:
- SUNY Online Teaching: Introduction to OSCQR (self-assessment) – Completing this webinar prepares you to Review and Refresh your online course with OSCQR using the OSCQR self-assessment.
- SUNY Online Teaching: Become a OSCQR Online Course Reviewer – Completing this is a prerequisite to certification as an online course reviewer, or a certified OSCQR trainer.
Additional OSCQR Webinars:
- SUNY Online Teaching: Designing an OSCQR Implementation Plan – Completing this presents and overview of tools, resources and information design to help you develop an implementation plan for larger-scale institutional-level online course quality review and refresh initiatives using OSCQR. Experience with online quality rubrics, and the OSCQR tools, resources, and process is assumed.
- SUNY Online Teaching: Supporting Regular and Substantive Interaction– Completing this provides an overview of the US Department of Education federal regulation on RSI, and how to apply the OSCQR RSI-related standards to support compliance with this regulation at institutional, course, and instructional levels.
Certification
SUNY participants can earn formal certification to confirm their expertise in OSCQR Self-Assessment, as an OSCQR Online Course Reviewer, or Trainer, at no additional cost. Certification requires submitted evidence of the application of the OSCQR rubric in a full course review and refresh process.
Certification is available for any non-SUNY participants for a modest fee to cover the cost of the review of evidence.
